Dec 02 2022 - No hunters? No animals!
Episode Transcript
It’s hunting season in Virginia. I’ve been a hunter since age 6. I plan to continue hunting until I die. Hunting was part of our family’s economy. If you wanted to eat something, you better go shoot something. When I was in Africa, I discovered that many of the places where I liked to hunt were closed because of Islamic terrorism. And the strangest thing is, the animals disappeared when Hunters disappeared. You see, hunters were the ones who kept the vitality of the herds strong. But after the professional hunters left, poachers came in and killed everything because they simply didn’t care. And the villages that depended on the tourist hunters literally died out. See, the villagers got the license fee, the guide fee, the trophy fee and the meat. When the animals were gone, there was no source of income for food. It’s ironic. No hunters, no animals.
